Loaaaaaads of you have been asking how I managed to dye my hair grey so this post will tell you what you need and how to do it. I wanted to make a YouTube video but I finished all the dye *sorry* Both the silver and grey dye were purchased from Amazon, links are at the bottom of this post.
- Colour 613 (platinum blonde) Virgin Hair. You can also use colour 1b bundles
-6% peroxide for 613 hair or 12% peroxide for 1b hair
-Blue bleaching powder
-2/3 pots Directions Hair dye in silver
-1 bottle Rouxi Fanci Full in True Steal
-1 bottle of black dye (any brand)
-2 bin bags to dye the hair on
-large sized food or freezer bag
-2 wide dye brushes
-Silver Toning Shampoo
-Any good conditioner (I use tresseme split ends protect)
I was soooo excited to dye my hair that I forgot to take loads of pics whilst it was dying so you'll have you to your imagination for most of it lol.
1) Bleach your hair extensions by mixing the blue powder and peroxide in a plastic container using the dying brush to stir the mixture. Apply evenly to the hair and comb through. Wrap in a tightly sealed plastic bag or foil for 10-15 mins (613), 15-20 mins (1b). 1b hair may need to be to bleached several times before turning white.

The hair needs to be almost white otherwise your hair will turn brown. Using hair that is naturally blonde reduces damage to the hair and any chances of over processing. Although it is possible to bleach 1b hair very light, the hair ends up very frail but if you're willing to risk it then go ahead!
2) Wash the hair using the toning shampoo, this will remove any brassy tones and keep the hair as light as possible,
3) Brush the hair the remove any kinks or knots. Towel dry the hair or allow it to hair dry slightly before applying the Directions hair dye. The hair MUST be slightly wet to absorb the colour.
Directions Silver is a very bright blue colour. It will not strain your hair at all. It works like the toning shampoo and will turn your hair a very pale silver colour once washed off.
4) Pour 1/5 of the Rouxi Fanci Full dye into the food bag.
This dye is not like your average hair dye. It's more like dirty water as it is very very thin. You will probably need more than one bottle for 4 bundles+ and a closure, because I did.
5) place the bundles in the bag tips first. Mix the bundles in the dye before pour more dye to cover the rest of the bundles. Not the whole bottle you may need to do this again.
6) Leave that hair for 24-48 hours. Yes 2 days!! This is to make sure the dye has stuck to the hair. The first time I left it for a few hours and it washed right out as the dye is very thin.
7) Depending on how much off the dye stayed on the hair repeat step 5.
The next step is optional. One of my followers suggested I dye my hair a light blue colour before dying it grey so i could build up the colour. If you want your hair to have a lilac or blue tint then leave the toning shampoo on for 20-30 mins so it stains the hair then was off.
But I wanted black undertone so the hair was a solid grey colour (lighting makes it look blue in some pics). This is how I achieved it.

9) Cover the wefts in black dye. Using a clean dye brush, bring the dye 1-2 inches away from the weft. Do this on both sides of every bundle. Leave for 15 mins.
10) Wash the black dye out making sure the bundles catch the dark water. It may help to put the plug in the sink so the hair can soak in it for a while. Not too much water, just enough for all the bundles to sit in.
11) Condition the hair again and allow to air dry.
If you want to get dark roots on your closure:
1) part your colour as desired.
2) Use a small amount of black dye on the dying brush and brush away from the lace/silk.
Make sure you don't get dye on the lace/silk as it will strain and sometimes not wash off. Try covering the parting with concealer if it doesn't.
3) Wash the black dye off but this time avoid letting the dark water touch the hair, it will turn the closure black too.
4) Leave to air dry and install.
